A BEAUTIFUL SPOT. As you know, we stop occasionally at truck stops and casinos, where we can park overnight free. It’s actually pretty fun, as you know from reading my earlier posts. So, on the way back to San Diego we looked at the map and decided to stop at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula. We discovered that there is a very nice RV Park there, not just overnight parking in a lot. So, we booked a spot there and spend a couple of nights. Very nice! It’s a two-time winner of the “Best RV Resort Award” by the readers of Motorhome and Trailer Life magazines. That’s a pretty big deal…there are a heck of lot of high-end RV resorts out there. Here’s how the the Indians describe their resort:

Accommodations – Pechanga RV Resort features 168 spacious sites that accommodate even the largest RVs or Trailers. The RV Resort offers free electric (20, 30 and 50 amp), water, sewer hook-ups, WiFi, cable TV, two spas, a heated pool, a pet-friendly environment and so much more! 113 Deluxe Back-in and 25 Deluxe Pull-through sites are available in almost all areas of the RV Resort. Whether you want a lush poolside site or one close to our pet entertainment area or fun-filled horseshoe pits, the friendly staff of Pechanga RV Resort will do our best to accommodate you.

This is the slot machine I played. Something went dreadfully wrong however. I didn’t win the new Corvette or anything else! We did have a great time in the casino, however.
I left with no money and certainly without the keys to the new Corvette they promised me!
We were very impressed with Pechanga. The hotel was 4 Diamond rated by the Auto Club. The lobby and restaurants were superb. The buffet was the best! We’ve always enjoyed the big buffet at Barona Casino in Lakeside, but even it doesn’t hold a candle to the one here at Pechanga. All of the facilities clean and well attended. The RV Park is fully landscaped and completely equipped with laundry facilities, a clubhouse, 2 pools and a jacuzzi and everything else one could think of having. A shuttle service takes you from your “doorstep” in the RV Park to anywhere else on the property you’d like to go. And, all you do is call on the phone when you’re ready to go and a shuttle magically appears within about 1 minute to drive you there. This property is located right on Interstate 15 in Riverside County, just a little east of San Diego. It’s a convenient stop and one we’ll make again, whether for a week to relax and enjoy all the amenities or just for dinner. Get this: If you’re over 55 years of age, two eat for the price of one on Friday nights. So for less than 15 bucks a piece you can have what is truly a good meal, with more variety than you could possibly sample at one time. I’m a pretty snobby foodie, but I recommend this place without reservation!
