Fredericksburg is a little town about half an hour’s drive from our winter home in Kerrville. Shopping along Main Street in the specialty boutiques is popular and there’s an ice cream parlor that puts Baskin Robbins to shame. The town is also home to the National Museum of the Pacific War, which is dedicated to showcasing exhibits from the Second World War. Even more interesting are the live battle re-enactments on the museum grounds, where American Marines do battle with seemingly real Japanese soldiers. Real World War II tanks and weapons are used in the mock battles making the show educational and exciting. We’d never seen anything quite like it.
