MARCH 3, 2015
WE’RE GETTING ANTSY! We’ve been in the Texas Hill Country for more than four months and as much as we love it here, we’re ready to move along. The problem is we’re heading east and the weather is still too cold to allow for comfortable travel in that direction. Accordingly, we’ll remain at Buckhorn Lake in Kerrville until the end of the month before resuming our Journey.
COMING UP: Come April 1st, we’ll re-locate to see all three presidential libraries in Texas: Bush 41, Bush 43 and the LBJ library. After that, we’ll head to Gulf Shores in Alabama, via New Orleans. New Orleans because it’s a “must see” place with culinary seafood delights, and because we can take a ride on a riverboat on the Mississippi River. And Gulf Shores because it appears to be a beautiful spot on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico and a place where we’d like to spend a couple months next winter. We want to check it out and make advance reservations if it’s as nice as we hope it will be. We’ve learned already that the best winter destinations fill early.
From there, our destination is the state of Maine, via many interesting locales including Nashville, Tennessee where we’ll see a performance at the Grand Ole Oprey House. Once we arrive in Maine, we’ll begin a leisurely summer-long drive down the eastern seaboard taking time for lots of lobster dinners and learn more about many famous historical places. Washington DC, Boston, New York…there’s enough to keep us happily occupied during this next phase of our Great American Adventure.
MAKE PLANS NOW TO JOIN US ON THIS EXCITING LEG OF OUR ADVENTURE. HERE’S A PEEK AT SOME OF THE SPOTS WE’LL VISIT IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS.
